I hope this message finds you all well and in good health.
Todd asked me to write the commentary for this week. Our conversation went something like this:
Todd: “Pattie, I want you to write next week’s commentary.”
Me: “No! Absolutely NOT!”
Todd: “ I need you to. Our clients will enjoy hearing from all of us and at this point, you are the only one our clients have not heard from. You will be fine.”
Me: “I am not a reporter; I cannot write about the markets or what is going on with the Coronavirus or COVID-19.”
Todd: “You do not have to. We have gotten more responses to my personal stories from our clients than our market or COVID updates. Write about what is going on from your perspective.”
Jon: “Pattie, there are plenty of other topics you can write about. You can write about our new website.”
So, family, here it is… from “professed” non-writer and non-reporter:
Website:
How many of you know Legacy Wealth Alliance has a website? Probably, not many.
When I came to Legacy Wealth Alliance 5 YEARS AGO, Todd asked me to take care of having my bio and picture added to the website. Okay, how do I do that? “Call IT and they can help you figure it out.” Lucky for me, there was someone on staff who knew the language of our website and was able to add my bio and picture. Problem solved… until we hired another individual. The person who originally helped me in IT was gone and no one else knew our website language. Then came the big dilemma do we hire someone to make the edits or redevelop the website since ours was not user friendly or viewable on mobile devices.
After interviewing developers, etc. it was decided to start from scratch with a new website in a language I can learn so I can edit it myself. As I have not learned this yet, the jury is still out on my capabilities. The good news is it is in a universal language and I know people who could help me, if needed.
Anyway, here is the point. Legacy Wealth Alliance has a new website that was just launched this week! We are all so excited for this launch. No one could be happier than Todd, Jon, myself and the developer of course. This website has been over two years in the making.
Our website will house our most recent commentaries. As well as any events that may be going on. We also have a resource page that will have a links to Wealthscape Investor and the OmniSource reports for those of our you that did not save the web addresses.
Please check out new website at www.legacywealthalliance.com and let us know what you think. If you want to see our Client Celebration & Travel Board, go to the website, click on the About tab, scroll to Commitment to Clients and click. We really do need to get a bigger board. Thank you to all our clients who send us postcards and pictures from your travels and milestone events. We truly look at this board with pride that our work, however small, had something to do with your moment and helps us feel like a part of your travels or celebrations. Keep them coming as all of us look forward to seeing where you have been and getting these “surprises” in the mail to add to our Board.
Anniversary:
I, too, find it hard to believe I have been with LWA for five years. I attribute this to, just like in any personal relationship; it needs to be the right fit. I do believe my professional and personal background have everything to do with who I am today. I do not dwell on what I do not have, but on what I can achieve. I get a lot of personal satisfaction out of serving all of you and learning more about you and your families. I also enjoy working with Todd and Jon and believe we have a good team of people, all with different skills and abilities, to make your experiences with us as best as possible.
People have asked me why I moved across the country without knowing a soul in Arizona. The answer is simple. I wanted a change. Five years later I look back without one regret. My move was hardest on my children. I know it is hard on them not having me nearby. But each of them has told me on their own, without prompting, they have seen nothing but positive results in me and know I did the right thing. In hindsight, I taught my children a valuable lesson.
Speaking of anniversaries, Jon Launder will have been with LWA for one-year next month. Congratulations, Jon! Jon fits right in with Todd and I and has been a great addition to our team. Why pick up the phone and use the intercom when you can yell out what you need and immediately get your answer! Yes, we do, just like a family!
New Receptionist
With COVID-19 affecting us all with changes we did not ask for… here is a pleasant change. Meet Eddy, our new receptionist.
Actually, Eddy has just been visiting us during COVID-19 and keeps us company. Eddy belongs to Jon and his girlfriend Emma. Emma has been on the frontlines as a nurse working on the COVID floors at Banner hospital. Jon has brought in Eddy at times to visit us, keep us company and prevent Eddy from being in his kennel all day. He is not here every day, but has fit not just with LWA, but also our neighbors down the hall. They all say goodbye to Eddy before heading out for the night. I sometimes wonder if dogs can tell time because at 5:00 p.m. Eddy will go stand at the door to wait and watch the neighbors leave. I think we have officially adopted him as our new mascot.
With COVID-19, what words of wisdom can I share with you during this time? It is easy to get caught up in the negativity with the media and begin to panic. Firstly, please know that you are in control of your situation, no one else is. Secondly, everyone has an opinion, and most likely it is not yours. Here is an article I found informative called “Noise vs. information”(3) https://blog.brinkercapital.com/noise-vs-information/
Lastly, and on a more positive side, on Friday, May 1, at approximately 3: 10 p.m., Luke Air Force Base is planning a flyover to salute and honor Arizona’s front line COVID-19 responders, like Emma, with a community flyover May 1, 2020. The flyover will include the 56th Fighter Wing and the 944th Fighter Wing, along with the Arizona Air National Guard 161st Air Refueling Wing. (1)
