Good Afternoon Legacy Wealth Alliance Family,
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that 2021 is off to a great start for you, your families, and your businesses. The economic outlook, at least in Arizona, is doing well compared to other major metropolitan areas; Chicago, New York, San Francisco. Something came across my desk a few weeks ago stating that 100,000 families moved into Maricopa County from California in 2020. We have been out looking at new office space for the last few months. A landlord’s broker shared with me that his team personally leased 80,000 square feet in the month of January. Much of this was to tech companies pulling up stakes in Silicon Valley and moving to more business friendly (housing, infrastructure, taxes, cost of living) places like Arizona. With these inflows, come jobs, a robust real estate market (good time to sell), and a sustainable commercial leasing market.
While COVID has brought many negatives, it has not been all bad. The model of allowing people to work from home, shows they can be just as productive. Some of our clients that have been impacted, have shared they are working more hours due to the lack of a home / work boundary. This trend could soon become the “new normal” as workers and their families are no longer bound by their “commutes to the office” allowing for “destination living” in locations that many of us only go to when we have vacations. Place like Couer d’Alene, Idaho where city planners expect the size of their city to double in population in the next 3 – 5 years. At Legacy Wealth Alliance (LWA), and thanks to the clients we serve every day, we had our best year ever in 2020. Despite the COVID crisis. It also forced us due to social distancing to be more adaptable. We now use video conferencing that allows us to stay in contact, maintain the personal touch, right from the comforts of your own homes. This has been a plus for us, that we are now able to work more fluidly with clients in other states where we are licensed helping us expand our business footprint, from local, to more national. While I still prefer eyeball to eyeball in office meetings, it has certainly helped in our growth and allowed us to stay connected.
As many of you know, we strive to increase our value to you year over year. We work on education and being on the cutting edge of planning and investment strategies, product offerings, tax and legislation changes (which there were many in 2020 and more to come in 2021), reviewing economic and corporate earnings data, and ensuring our service models are the best they can be. At the same time, with all continual growth, comes pain that must be overcome. We only want to get better. Our theme in 2021, is “Executing Changes.” A big part of that change this year will be adding more talented individuals to our team and having more focused responsibilities. Allowing people to do work at their highest and best levels. We are currently pursuing an Operations Manager to improve and document our processes and workflows meaning faster business turnaround times and service standards for you. Pattie will be a Client Experience Associate (CEA). She excels at caring for people and will be accountable for your experience with LWA. I personally want to thank Pattie for her devotion and loyalty over the last almost 6 years. She has worn a multitude of hats with us and has never failed in caring for you, me personally, or LWA. Once we add our Operations Manager, we may bring in an additional CEA before the end of the year. Jon will continue to run our Planning and Investment area. He is at his highest and best in investment and product research, due diligence, building financial plans and model portfolios, and tax planning. My role will continue in helping you and our firm build and grow for the future and finding other professionals in our community to add to our network that can help in accomplishing your goals.
I cannot articulate to you in words, how proud I am of what we do, who we are, and how much we care about you, your families, and your businesses. At our core, there are two things we want to achieve with all of you: 1. Serving you. 2. Earn the right to your trust in every interaction with any member on our team. We want you to “feel” that and not be a mission without meaning. I am fortunate to work every day with Pattie and Jon who have the same beliefs. I promise as we continue to expand and grow, we will not lose that creed to our culture. The greatest personal satisfaction I get from what I do, is listening to our clients when they begin their journey with LWA of all they want to accomplish. Their dreams, their goals, the expectations of themselves, and their families. Where they want to be by when. Our only task is to put number values on those desires. The best moment for us, is when we witness our clients achieve it. Some of the greatest moment’s life has to offer, you have graciously given us front row tickets to “the show”. In 28 years, I have heard the stories questioning whether “that” level of financial achievement was possible. Only to see our client “cross the line”. You people inspire me. We also get the same tickets when things do not turn out as planned, unexpected illness or death. Again, a true honor to share in those horrific emotions with you and your families. Even when things seem desperate and insurmountable, I have seen individuals overcome and move forward. We hope that we have helped educate you on strategies and solutions that you did not know. You equally have allowed us to witness amazing achievements. I would like nothing more to use the names and share the amazing things we get to a be part of, but as some of you have already communicated, “Todd, your commentaries are too long.”
I ask your forgiveness. Our commentaries are meant to be about you, not about us. However, our success, us bringing in additional talent to add to our team, only happens because of one thing: Y-O-U. Your success is ours. AND our success is yours. We are not perfect and will make mistakes in our pursuits. They are never intentional. We all commit, to fixing them in short order and making them right. Every new decade, we strategically plan the direction of our firm. The deliverables to start doing, keep doing, and stop doing. When I look from the starting line on the next 10 years, we are going to become a firm instead of depending on one person, usually me, we are going to surround you and your wealth with a team of professionals who care. The biggest concern I hear when meeting with new clients, is concern that their experience is only as good as their relationship with me. THAT is what we are striving on no longer being an issue. While your interaction depending on your needs will typically trend to one person over another, we want you to see and experience the sum of all the members that make up Legacy Wealth Alliance.
Thank you for helping us grow to our best year last year. Thank you for your continued introductions to other members of your family and friends who need financial guidance and direction, even across state lines. Thank you for your faith and trust in our abilities. We would not have growing pains without you believing in us. I look forward to sharing more about “Executed Changes” as they progress and the new talent, we will be adding to improve your experience and increase our value to you. Please let us know if there is ever more, we can do to help. All the best in 2021.
Pursuing Wealth, Wisdom, and Well Being Together,
Todd Martin
